November 6, 2017 – SPARK Forum: Aligning Cross-Functional Efforts to Drive Customer Engagement
In an effort to more effectively compete in maturing markets, many financial services providers are developing stronger customer engagement strategies. They are transitioning from an individual product orientation to broader customer solutions that span across product lines. BridgePoint convened a panel of industry peers to discuss how aligning cross-functional efforts has been critical to their success. From establishing the strategy, managing the competing priorities of customer experience and cost, and recognizing the increasing role of data, the group discussed their challenges and lessons learned.



April 26, 2017 – LIMRA LOMA Secure Retirement Institute Board Meeting and Conference


BridgePoint was invited to address the annual Secure Retirement Institute board meeting to provide a perspective on the changing landscape of retirement, both in the US and globally. CEO Barbara March discussed industry trends, challenges, and the ongoing search for potential cost-effective solutions for an estimated 58 million Americans with no retirement coverage.

April 6-7, 2017 – Aspen Leadership Forum on Retirement Savings
State retirement programs continue to be a leading topic in the financial services industry. The Aspen Institute’s Financial Security Program held a forum to update attendees on the progress of the two public-sector approaches to retirement coverage that have advanced the furthest in recent years: the United Kingdom’s National Employment Savings Trust (NEST), and state Secure Choice auto-IRA programs. Industry experts, including Barbara March, CEO of BridgePoint, shared the lessons learned from early implementation efforts.



February 14, 2017 – BridgePoint Broker-Dealer Forum, Boston

Broker-Dealer organizations are at the forefront of significant change as a result of many market dynamics. BridgePoint recently hosted eight Broker-Dealer firms to share their perspectives on common issues affecting the industry. The discussion probed the topics of the impact of the DOL fiduciary rule, margin compression, and Advisor recruitment and retention.

November 6, 2016 – SPARK Forum: Retirement Industry Trends and Insights

While most firms are actively engaged in managing the changes imposed by the DOL fiduciary rule, few have been as focused on the collective impact of broad industry trends and potential market disruptors. At the recent SPARK Forum Conference, Barbara March, CEO of BridgePoint, shared insights into how the retirement industry is continuing to evolve. The session highlighted emerging market factors for consideration as firms look toward strategies for long-term success.


June 20, 2016 – Spark National Conference: Roundtable on Implementation and Operation of State-sponsored Retirement Savings Plans

In 2017, Oregon and Illinois will begin implementation of their state-sponsored retirement savings programs for private sector workers, and several other states are expected to follow soon after. These plans, also known as ‘Secure Choice’ plans, are auto-IRA payroll deduction programs that would require worker participation if the employer – usually of a certain size – does not offer a plan of its own. Steve Mitchell, Managing Consultant at BridgePoint, facilitated a discussion to get input on how such plans might work in practice and what implementation, operational and communication issues state policymakers should be aware of as they move forward with similar initiatives.

June 20, 2016 – Spark National Conference: Industry Insights as Firms Have Approached the DOL Rule

Since the DOL has released its final fiduciary ruling, firms has been planning for the necessary changes and are now moving toward execution. BridgePoint’s Jody Meth, and Shelli VanDeMark Kendig, Practice Directors, led an informative discussion of early insights from working across the landscape of asset managers, broker-dealers and recordkeeping providers. The team will share the varied approaches of firms, emerging best practices, and commentary about future program elements that are not yet at the forefront of consideration.

June 21, 2016 – Aspen Institute Forum – Heading Off a Retirement Reckoning in Oregon
Oregon is one of the first states in the nation to offer a retirement savings program for those who do not have access to a savings plan at work. The Aspen Institute’s Financial Security Program brought together an array of business, research, and nonprofit leaders in a forum accessible to both the public and to the Board responsible for the Oregon Retirement Savings Plan. These experts included Barbara March, CEO of BridgePoint, and offered ideas, insights, data, and other resources for the design and implementation of a successful rollout.



May 9-13, 2016 – SPARK Fiduciary Workshops, Charlotte and Denver


The SPARK Fiduciary Workshops were organized as a chance for members to interact with their peers to gain a common interpretation of the final regulations, identify broad considerations for compliance and organizational readiness, and develop goals on how the industry could work together to implement these new regulations. BridgePoint has been active in the planning process for these events, and will be facilitating two discussions during the workshop. Scott Brogan will co-host the Advisor Impact discussion, and Jody Meth will lead a discussion on the impacts to B2B products and ongoing relationships.



May 4, 2016 – LIMRA LOMA 2016 Retirement Industry Conference


BridgePoint was recently asked to speak at the annual Secure Retirement Institute board meeting to provide a perspective on the State-sponsored retirement savings programs. CEO Barbara March led an active discussion sharing insights from BridgePoint’s involvement with several state initiatives, and in working with Provider firms to evaluate the market opportunity.



April 26, 2016 – ProcessUnity Customer Summit, Boston

Jody Meth and Joe Olivier recently spoke at the ProcessUnity Customer summit. In their presentation, the team talked about the evolution of Offer Management and the best practices of linking product strategy with tools to support its ongoing delivery.



April 17-19, 2016 – NAPA 401(k) Summit, Nashville

In April, BridgePoint attended the NAPA 401(k) Summit in Nashville. The theme of the summit was “Many Voices, One Vision” and presented the unique opportunity to connect with other industry leaders and professionals to gain insight into the challenges that those dealing with 401(k) plans are facing.



April 14, 2016 – BridgePoint Executive Roundtable, Boston


On April 14, BridgePoint continued their exclusive Financial Services Leadership Dinner Series with a discussion on The Pending Fiduciary Regulations. Attendees compared notes on the various stages of planning for the upcoming changes and the challenges they face in moving from strategy to execution.



April 4-5, 2016 – Tiburon CEO Summit, New York

BridgePoint CEO Barbara March recently attended the Tiburon CEO Summit in New York City. The theme of the conference was the state of the financial services industry, focused on the rapid evolution being driven all across the business value chain. The keynote presentation was given by Chip Roame, Managing Partner, Tiburon Strategic Advisors, and the overall event offered a terrific opportunity to connect with other industry business leaders.
